These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in the Million-Dollar AI Legal A.I. Challenge by Lawyer.com (“Contest”) organized by Lawyer.com, Inc. (“Organizer”). By submitting an entry to the Contest, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
To be eligible to participate in the Contest, you must:
a. Be at least 18 years old at the time of submission.
b. Provide your submission in English.
c. Have an existing team or a solid plan to assemble a capable team if awarded the investment.
d. Submit an original idea that has not been previously published or entered into other contests or competitions.
e. Not be an employee, contractor, or immediate family member of the Organizer or anyone involved in organizing, judging, or promoting the Contest.
f. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules in your jurisdiction, as well as those of the United States.
Submissions must be made through the official submission platform at ai.lawyer.com and must include all required information, as outlined in the Contest Details. Incomplete or non-compliant submissions will not be considered.
By participating in the Contest, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to the intellectual property contained in your submission. Participants retain ownership of their intellectual property, including copyrights, patents, and trademarks associated with their submissions.
By participating in the Contest, you grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your submission for the purpose of evaluating, judging, and promoting the Contest. This license does not extend to the Organizer using your submission for its own commercial purposes, except as agreed upon with you.
The Organizer will not disclose your submission or any related information to third parties without your consent, except for disclosures necessary for judging the Contest or as required by law.
The winner of the Contest will be selected based on the judging criteria outlined in the Contest Details. The winner will receive a $1,000,000 investment in their AI-based legal tool or service. The investment will be disbursed according to management’s monthly budget requirements, which will depend on the current development progress of the venture. The Organizer reserves the right not to select a winner or award the investment if, in its sole discretion, the submissions do not meet the required quality standards or criteria.
By participating in the Contest, you agree to indemnify and hold the Organizer, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from any and all claims, damages, losses, expenses, and liabilities arising from or in connection with your participation in the Contest, your submission, or your breach of these Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms or the Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United States.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
The Organizer reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically to ensure you are aware of any changes.
These Terms, together with the Contest Details and any documents referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Organizer regarding your participation in the Contest, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the Contest.
No waiver of any provision of these Terms by the Organizer shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such provision or any other provision, and the Organizer’s failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
The Organizer shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Terms or the Contest if such failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, natural disasters, or interruptions in telecommunications, transportation, or power supply.
The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant found to be in violation of these Terms or engaging in any fraudulent, dishonest, or unethical conduct in connection with the Contest.
By participating in the Contest, you agree that the Organizer may use your name, likeness, and biographical information for promotional purposes, including but not limited to press releases, social media posts, and interviews, without further compensation or notice, unless prohibited by law.
By participating in the Contest, you agree that the Organizer may collect, store, and process your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and its privacy policy. The Organizer may use your personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest, communicating with you about the Contest, and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if it determines that the Contest cannot be conducted as originally planned due to any cause beyond its control, including but not limited to technical issues, fraud, or any other factors that may compromise the integrity or fairness of the Contest.
